FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my dog get to go outside or are they kept in their run all day?
Each dog that stays with us gets an opportunity to go outside to go to the
bathroom, exercise and, if social, make new friends
How big are your runs and will my multiple dogs fit in them?
Our indoor/outdoor runs are about 4' wide by 10' in length. The inside portion
is 4' x 3' and the outside portion is 4' x 7'.  As far as comfortably and safely
boarding multiple dogs, we've had siblings that weighed in at over 100lbs each
share a run and not have any issues.  As long as your dogs are comfortable with
each other and do not have any food aggression or resource guarding, there
shouldn't be any issues; however, if any issues do arise during a stay, we will
separate them immediately.
Is there air conditioning and heating?
Yes, there sure is.
If I drop off near closing time, will I be charged for that day?
Yes, there is always a charge for the day you drop off regardless of the time
that you drop off.
Do you charge by the night or by the day?
We charge by the day; however, if you pick up before noon on the day of
pickup, you will not be charged for the day.  If you pick up in the afternoon, you
will be charged for that day.
What will I need to bring?
We will need a hard copy of an up-to-date shot record (including Booster,
Bordatella, and Rabies vaccinations) from your vet and appropriate bedding.
What can I bring to make my dog's stay more comfortable?
You must bring bedding, but you may also bring treats, toys, rawhides, chewies,
bowls...even a shirt you've recently worn. Basically, we try to be as
accommodating as possible, but we must insist that you bring no kitchen sinks,
sofas, or California king size beds.
Can I call and check in on my furry baby?
You sure can!  We will let you know if we've been able to place your dog in a
social group, how well they are eating, or if we've seen any funny, little quirks that
only your dog does (e.g. peeing while the dog is doing a hand stand...seriously).
Can I come and visit before I leave my dog and/or can I have
someone come and visit my dog while I am away?
You can come and visit our facility before you decide to board with us; however,
it must be done during our hours and by appointment only.  As far as having a
friend or relative come to check in on your dog while you are away, it is not in the
best interest of your dog.  They become confused and wonder why they are
going home with them and it take your dog a long time to settle back down.
Do you mind if I or my child(ren) walk around the kennel to look at
the dogs when I drop off my dog or when picking up?
I wish I could say, "No, I don't mind," but it gets the dogs riled up, extremely
upset, and/or overly excited. All of this typically leads to the dogs having potty
accidents in their run and it even risks injury because the dogs are jumping all
over the chain link.  We try to keep the dogs calm and relaxed until it's time to go
outside and go crazy. You may, however, visit our goats...just don't try to pet our
own personal dogs...they are crazy.
My dog is a crazy, little/big maniac when I let him or her off the leash.
I'm worried he or she might break or damage something in the lobby or
get into something he or she shouldn't be getting into if I let go...Is it
okay to take off the leash and should I reprimand or discipline my dog
when I do so?
Yes, please take off the leash and collar! No, please don't reprimand your dog!
We want your dog to associate our facility as a positive place and our lobby is
as dog friendly as they come.  They are not going to get into anything that is
going to hurt them or get them in trouble (with me at least) so it's good to let
them explore and become comfortable in their new environment.  If they happen
to break something, then it is my fault for having something breakable within
reach.
Do my neighbors complain about the barking?
The dogs are typically very calm and quiet during the day and evening.  They
definitely get all riled up when we go back there to let them out, feed them, water
them, or check a dog in or out, but they are mostly quiet.  So no, no complaints
thus far.
Can you watch my dog if she is in heat?
No, we do not watch dogs in heat for many, many reasons.
Will there by anymore FAQs?
Most likely, yes.
